Personal Statement:

I graduated from Weymouth South High School and from Boston College with a bachelor of science in biology.  I worked at Tufts University Department of Biochemistry researching the genetic sequence of human ferritin, an iron storage protein found in the liver.  I went to Albany Medical College and graduated in 1990, and served in the United States Navy as a medical officer, completing my internship in 1991.   I returned to Albany Medical Center Hospital to complete my pediatric residency and chief residency before returning to Weymouth as a pediatrician.  I worked in a solo practice for one year before joining Quincy Pediatric Associates in 1995 and have been there ever since.  I am also the school physician for the Town of Rockland, the North River Collaborative and the Independence Academy in Brockton, MA, a school for teens recovering from addiction.  I also serve as practice manager representative for Quincy Pediatric Associates with Affiliated Pediatric Practices, a group of pediatric practices in the greater Boston area who strive to improve pediatric care by improving patient care and working with health insurance companies.

I am married with four children and two grandchildren.  I have been an embarrassingly devoted Patriots fan and have had season tickets for over 24 years.  My hobbies include maintaining marine aquariums, books and movies.  I am an active member of the Community Baptist Church in Weymouth and can often be found every Sunday in the spring at the Braintree Challenger Baseball games.  I enjoy medical mission trips and once year travel to Nehemiah’s Vision Ministry in the village of Chambrun, Haiti, where we run a series of medical clinics in some of Haiti’s neediest areas.  I also run a biannual medical clinic with the South Shore Christian Academy in the villages of St. Margaret and Armenia in Belize.  I am always looking for my next challenge.
